Parent Governor Election 2025

The election will be carried out via an online, secure, secret ballot. The link to the ballot page and details of how to vote will be sent by email to all parents and guardians who are registered with parental responsibility and have an email addressed saved on their school record. If you do not receive an email once the ballot opens and you believe that you should have been, please contact the school office.

If you do not have internet access, the school office will be able to help you to participate. Every parent or guardian of a child at Hatcham Primary has one vote in the election, regardless of how many children they have in the school.

The ballot closes on the 28th February.

I would be honoured to offer my skills and experience to serve as a governor at Hatcham Primary, where I can leverage my skills and experience to ensure every child has the chance to flourish. As a dedicated and committed individual, I am eager to bring my analytical mindset and passion for problem-solving to the table, working collaboratively with the school leadership and community to make informed decisions that benefit the school.

With a background in media and law, I possess a unique blend of skills that will enable me to provide valuable insights and perspectives. My expertise in data analysis, critical thinking, and effective communication will allow me to ask probing questions, scrutinize information, and drive constructive dialogue that fosters a culture of transparency and accountability.
I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the success of Hatcham Primary, working together with the school community to achieve its goals and drive ongoing development.

I am passionate about ensuring every child receives the best possible education and support during their school journey. As a parent, I understand the challenges families face and the importance of fostering a positive partnership between home and school.

I am committed to being the voice of parents and advocating on the behalf of the children attending.

I bring a balanced perspective, combining a keen interest in education and child development with a practical understanding of decision-making. This includes my work experience within the Customer Panel of my housing association and university studies in Education, Cultural Society. I believe this equips me to contribute to discussions on school policies, budgets, and strategic planning effectively.

I am committed to promoting inclusivity, transparency, and the welfare of all children, ensuring they thrive academically, socially and emotionally. It would be an honour to represent and support the school's vision for excellence.

Candidate 3 - Jacob Sakil

I love knowing my son and nephew attend a school that is committed to their education and wellbeing. For me, as a Dad and an Uncle, this means everything. I want to put myself forward as a parent governor, so I can do my part by supporting the voices of other parents and carers on the governing board. Many of us have a lot to offer our school community and feel, its important that we have a chance to be a part of the decision-making process. We should also voice our concerns which informs how as a school, solutions are created. I’m a local boy. A passionate Youth Worker, willing to learn, share information and serve you. At 31 years old, I know only too well, how important it is to shape a world that’s forever changing and shaping our children’s lives. If you vote for me, I will always put our children needs first.

Candidate 4 - Janine La Rosa

I am seeking re-election as a parent governor at Haberdashers Primary School, where I have proudly served for the past four years. During this time, I have worked alongside the rest of the governing body providing oversight to ensure the safe running of the school, supporting Emily and the Senior Leadership Team as we navigated the challenges of recovering from Covid, the cost-of-living crisis and a successful OFSTED inspection.

As a parent of a son in Year 5 and a daughter joining Reception in September, I am deeply invested in the school's success. Professionally, I serve as Chief People Officer in an NHS hospital and am a Trustee on the National Board of Citizens Advice. My passion for equity drives my commitment to the governing body, and I am proud of the contributions I have made. I am eager to continue this important work for a second term.

Candidate 5 - Khadijatu Yusuf

My several years of experience working with children combined with my passion for making a positive difference in the community would make me an excellent choice for the role of parent governor. I enjoy the role of strategic management, promoting high standards of education and attainment by setting targets for pupils’ achievement.

I love to help manage the school’s budget which includes deciding how many staff will work in the school and their pay. I will love to participate in appointing leadership that regulates school’s conduct and discipline.
I will be happy to serve our prestigious school. Thank You
